SBS 2008™

Windows SBS 2008 is an integrated server solution that helps your customers protect business data, increase productivity, and stay connected with customers. By providing many of the features used by larger companies—e-mail; internal Web sites; remote access; support for mobile devices; file and printer sharing; anti-virus and anti-spam technologies; backup and restore; and Internet connectivity—Windows SBS 2008 gives your customers the tools they need to help grow their business capacity and helps you serve them more profitably and cost-efficiently. It is available in two editions, Standard and Premium.


EBS 2008™

Windows EBS 2008 in an integrated, multi-server solution designed for midsize businesses with larger numbers of users or more complex IT needs. It combines management, messaging, and security software into one integrated server solution that can dramatically reduce IT complexity and improve business efficiency. Windows EBS 2008 is pre-configured to best practices and offers substantial discounts compared to licensing the included products individually. It is available in two editions, Standard and Premium.


File, E-Mail and Print Server Control and Maintenance

B-Line provides a suite of unobtrusive software that can monitor and control all devices within your firm on a 24x7 basis. In addition, we can alert you, based on your criteria, when a particular device is becoming problematic or is undergoing usage issues. These tools are valuable in predicting hardware failure and lifecycles of hardware makes and models.


Project Management

B-Line has certified PMI skills that are available to our clients when a large engagement or a multi-site rollout is required and the client does not have the additional staff to oversee the project. Our project managers are equipped to lead a complete project or to help assist the project leader. Typically, our project managers perform some or all of the following tasks:

  • Time and Cost Management
  • Quality Management
  • Human Resources Management
  • Communications Management
  • Risk Management

Upgrades and Roll-outs

Many of our clients will refresh their hardware on a periodic basis every three to four years. Refreshing is a money-saving option by offsetting costs due to break/fix activity and productivity loss because of older hardware.

Within an upgrade or rollout B-Line will perform the following tasks:

  • Project planning for upgrades and rollouts.
  • Network infrastructure design, including network equipment and cabling.
  • Server upgrades, replacements and rebuilds, such as upgrading Windows NT to Windows 2003.
  • Desktop upgrades, replacements and rebuilds, standardized on Windows XP.
  • Complete remote access solutions, VPNs and web-based access.
  • Security overhauls, including determining risks and deploying appropriate countermeasures.
  • Application and patch deployments, Office and Windows security patches.

Break/Fix (Maintenance Services)

B-Line provides a single contract to ensure support needed to maintain your network and provide maximum availability for all your IT equipment. B-Line is proficient in this area as we currently maintain over 12,000 PCs across Canada.

While Break/Fix Service agreements remove many of the potential problems of managing IT and business equipment, they are of particular use for organizations or departments that:

  • have a large installed base of older equipment or environments that have ongoing repair needs for PCs, servers and printers
  • want one single point of contact for all repair needs or have a mix of in-warranty and out-of-warranty equipment
  • have changing equipment needs, with the addition and deletion of equipment throughout the year
  • have multiple locations or geographically dispersed locations without IT support

Logistics

Within our primary logistics centre located in Toronto we house, stage image, and test equipment for many of our larger clients. Hardware is asset tagged allowing our clients to understand what is in the field and view performance statistics based on equipment type and model. These reports enable our clients to perform refresh initiatives to ensure maximum hardware efficiency. We work with our clients to maintain the correct image to ensure new installation is performed quickly with limited impact on their business. In addition, our logistics centre also performs all repair work across a number of equipment types and models, regardless of their warranty status.

 


Network Consultation, Design and Maintenance

Many of our clients have a number of offices across Canada that may be as simple as a home location or a well-established branch. Regardless of the size, B-Line has implemented a cost-effective network solution while adhering to our clients risk profile. In some cases B-Line has engaged with our client's clients when an online service delivery is required.


Procurement

As an IBM, Dell and HP channel partner, B-line can purchase your required hardware at a significant discount and also perform any warranted repair work at no extra cost*.

*Only covers work expressly stated by the manufacture’s warranty agreement.


Brokerage Back Office Connectivity

B-Line currently has over 60 brokerage firms using B-Line's ASP service which allows the broker to connect up to their back office of either ADP or ISM. The service delivered is the same experience as you would expect from your market data vendor. By using B-Line, you have the freedom to choose your market data vendor based on the service.

Our clients access our services either by dedicated line or VPN over the Internet. Our VPN clients have the advantage of being able to access their back office at home with no monthly additional cost to their existing office fees.
